Solar Guides
Four questions came back over and over in the Nashville search results while this site was being planned, and not one page competing for those searches answered them. These four do, including the parts that argue against buying.

The reasons arrays actually come back off roofs around here, what each one costs to put right, and which of them are visible in a quote before anybody signs anything.

TVA net metering in Tennessee
Tennessee has no net metering. What stands in its place, which company you actually sign with, and what that does to the way a system here gets sized.
Every number here has a publisher and a date on it
Solar in Tennessee is a subject where the correct answer changed twice in fourteen months, and where a lot of what ranks was written before it changed. Federal pages that are still live still describe a credit that has since ended. Database entries that look official still name a utility programme that was retired. Neither is malice, and both are wrong.
So every figure on these pages carries the name of whoever published it and the day we read it, and where the source could not be read at all, the page says that instead of printing the number anyway. It makes for clunkier sentences than the alternative. It also means anyone who wants to argue with a figure on these pages can go and check it in about a minute, and we would rather have that argument than avoid it. There is more about what this site is, and how it gets paid, on the about page.
If the guide you want is about a specific job rather than a decision, the services pages go into what each one involves here: what the local power company wants from it, which permit office it goes through, and what has to be known before anybody can quote it.
Read one of these, then get it priced
A guide can only tell you what is true in general. A quote is where it gets specific to your roof, your usage and your power company, and it is written against the same figures these pages are.
